A Second Breath Foundation (www.asecondbreath.org) was founded for the purpose of financially aiding people who are waiting for or who have received transplants at Duke University Medical Center. Medical insurance in many cases does not cover all of the costs incurred. We are working with Duke to build a transplant housing village. Hopefully, this will take away the financial burden and problems with finding suitable housing to aid the patient and the family so they may focus on the most important thing – breathing.
100% of donations go directly to the charity. A Second Breath is funded by directors and through fund raising. The Board of Directors is responsible for all operational costs.
